Brandon "OnBrand" Stuart, a native and current resident of Detroit, is an interdisciplinary artist whose creative work in music, acting, and movement focuses on contextualizing facets of the millennial experience. In the context of his music, for example, his upcoming studio album “Birth of a Brand” is a sonic depiction of the millennial journey through balancing the need for financial stability with the persistent resolve to realize personal truths and live sublimely.
As a 2020 Unstoppable Voters Project grant recipient through the Center for Artistic Activism (C4AA), Brandon designed and led a creative voting rights project called “Float The Vote”. This project culminated with “Float The Vote: Tell Your Story”, a short documentary film highlighting the team’s efforts that was an official 2021 selection of the PopDoc Awards, the Detroit Black Film Festival, and the Better Cities Film Festival.
In 2024, Brandon became one of ten musicians selected to be a part of Music to Life's Music Changemaker Accelerator Academy, a 6.5-month online incubator that partners with artists from around the country looking to take their music off the stage and into communities to make lasting social change. He is currently piloting his project, "Composing Wellness", which brings live music into yoga spaces as a means of providing deeper context for individual and communal healing.
Brandon created ICONICLASS to brazenly interconnect his skills and ideas as a multi-hyphenate with fellow artists from different mediums and modalities through collaborative work on professional projects. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Behavioral Biology and East Asian Studies from Johns Hopkins University; a Master of Liberal Arts degree from the University of Chicago; and a 200hr teaching certification in alignment-based yoga.
